Summer Class Descriptions


5-7 Year Old Class
The 5 to 7 year old classes run for 5 days, 2-1/2 hours per day. The class runs Monday through Friday. Graduation will be held in the evening following the Friday class. Graduation is open to all family members and friends who would like to us. The ceremony is held at the Safety Village site.
Subjects offered to the younger class include: pedestrian, 9-11, poison, school bus, stranger danger, bullying, weather, water, bicycle/scooter, animal, train, playground, gun safety, buddy system, Teddy Bear clinic (first aid), good touch/bad touch, seat belts, and so much more! We also have the Darien Police Department and the Darien Woodridge Fire Department visit!
8-10 Year Old Class
The 8 to 10 year old class is held in the summer running for five days. The comprehensive curriculum is upgraded from the younger program and geared to concerns this age group faces. We teach the following safety topics: First Aid, bike, scooter, peer pressure, bullying, internet, stranger danger, latchkey, and more! The 8-10nyear old class meets off site for two of the classes. One class is held at the Darien Police Station and another at the Darien Woodridge Fire Department!
Students for this class do not need to have attended our 5-7 year old classes.
